Platte Woods United Methodist Church

Recycling at PWUMC

Did you know that the church receives money for recycling paper in the two bins in the parking lot? In 2008, we received $321 and recycled 31.8 tons of paper. This saved 95 cubic yards of landfill; saved enough electricity to power 65 homes for one month; and the reduction in air pollution is the same as taking 71 cars off the road for one day. For December 2008, we recycled 2.55 tons of paper. For December of this year, the Green Team is urging you to recycle all of your paper, especially those Christmas catalogs, in our paper recycling bins. Let’s beat our total from Dec. 2008!!
