Relief Efforts in Haiti

For years, Haiti has been devastated by hurricanes, flooding, political violence and a major earthquake. Already a country living in extreme poverty, the massive earthquake on January 12, 2010 has caused incalculable loss of human life and destruction to the homes and livelihoods of millions of people. United Methodists have had a long-standing relationship with Haiti through the Methodist Church of Haiti.

You can contribute to the relief efforts in Haiti through the United Methodist Church. One hundred percent of the gifts made will go to support relief and development efforts due to emergencies in Haiti. Donations can be made by:

  • Placing a check in the offering plate (check made to Platte Woods UMC with “Haiti Emergency - 418325” on the memo line)
